One of my favorite verses is Mathew 6:33. For me, it makes God’s word personal practical and profitable. “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (ESV). A quick look at the meaning of the Kingdom of God indicates it is the Kingdom of God on earth; God’s rule on earth. We can only enter this kingdom by the new birth. John 3:3, 6b, “the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life.” Without this new life we have no ability to understand how God has designed us to live. Without this new life we “may treat each other like dirt”! We may yell at each other, belittle each other, brutalize each other and generally humiliate each other.
Sunday in addition to celebrating “The Lord’s Supper”, I plan to look further at the “values” described in our Bylaws. Our concentration will be on Relational ministry. Let’s see what the Bylaws mean by “Community over self”, “God’s Word over Man’s word, “every member ministry” and “ Unity over uniformity etc.”.
I’m looking forward to seeing you on Sunday. Invite a friend and/or family member to come with you.
God’s Best to You,
